Kelly Fleming is a professional landscape architect with master degrees in Landscape Architecture and Design Studies. She has worked for award-winning firms in New York and the Baltimore-Washington region. Kelly’s professional and academic background has given her an understanding of ecological principles that she uses to guide the design, planting and maintenance of landscapes.

Kelly’s passion for landscape architecture stems from her love of painting and drawing combined with her love of nature and all of its processes seen and unseen. Good landscape design can promote ecosystem functions that support us by providing clean air, clean water, and increased biodiversity. Kelly seeks to integrate thoughtful design with emerging practices grounded in research and technology to support the ecosystems that support us. Her desire is to provide opportunities for all to have meaningful connections to the outdoors.

Kelly is a SITES Accredited Professional (SITES AP) which demonstrates her knowledge of sustainable land design, development and management practices. She employs critical thinking to various challenges in implementing green infrastructure at multiple scales to combat the environmental and sustainability challenges faced by the region. She has led landscape design studios in green infrastructure and community design at the University of Maryland and at the Sustainable Futures Program at the Monteverde Institute in Costa Rica.
